Going into crossfit my thoughts were that I needed something to keep me coming and the best way to do that all my life was through competition, I played soccer and softball growing up and all through high school. I needed a workout routine that would give me the same desire to be competitive. Crossfit was the answer. Since I started crossfit in 2013 I have not looked back, transitioning to coaching was the next logical step for me as I was already working on my college degree in exercise science and loved everything about that, with the goal to one day coach strength and conditioning. Taking my level 1 certification was a great way for me to start coaching and sharing my passion for this sport.
As a coach it is important to me to continually improve myself as well as those that I coach. Coaching is a highly dynamic position where change happens every day. Nutrition is a part of the crossfit adventure that often times becomes the least of everyone’s worries but brings the biggest bang, whether to body composition or nutrition for work capacity. I am continually trying to find new ways to work with individuals and coach groups on better nutritional habits, whether this comes from Paleo or Macronutrient style nutrition. I have held multiple group nutrition information sessions, from public groups to in house nutrition competitions.
I love to compete locally for the joy of the community and to see how my daily work at the gym has prepared me. I love crossfit and the variety it gives me. Crossfit was the element that I was missing since playing sports as a teenager; it was the element that helped me learn to eat better, to work hard, and to push myself mentally. Crossfit allowed me to love my body again to be able to change to a healthier stronger me. I want to empower you to be able to get stronger, healthier, and more fit!

Why I coach Crossfit: I coach Crossfit because of the drastic changes that Crossfit has made on my own life. When I first started Crossfit, I was out of shape, self-conscious, lonely, and over all in a terrible place. I suppose that is just part of being a 17 year old… At first Crossfit was just a way to workout and fill my time. At first it wasn’t really all that fun, and certainly not easy. As I continued to work hard and dedicate myself to learning and bettering myself at the gym, I began to see noticeable changes in not only my physique but also my outlook on life. I began to make acquaintances that would eventually become best friends. Opportunities opened up that previously had been closed to me. I saw a significant improvement in my quality of life, just by going to a Crossfit class everyday. Now, in my fifth year of Crossfit, what started first as a passing interest has become my purpose in life. I am now more dedicated than ever to bettering myself, and now as a coach, bettering the lives of other people.
